Please contact your grade level counselor as early as possible during the school year to indicate interest in one or more of the following assistance programs. The space is limited.

 

Operation School Supply: The Assistance League of Boise (ALB) and vaious other service organizations provide our school with donated school supplies each fall. Please contact your grade level counselor to determine what supplies are available. Many times we do not receive donations for all of the items on your child's supply list. you may contact the counselor by email or phone to request supplies.

 

Operation School Bell (6th grade only): The Assistance League of Boise (ALB) will once again provide a limited number of Ada County elementary students with new winter clothing, free of charge (coat, 2 pair jeans, sweatshirt, underwear, and a shoe voucher), with referrals from the school counselor. A student who receives free or reduced school lunch would be an ideal candidate.

 

Weekend Food: A local church is offering Meridian School District students "in need" (free and reduced lunch recipients) a weekend food package. Each weekend food package consists of non-perishable, individual-sized food items for one studnets. Delilveries are typically made to the school on Fridays. Space for this program is limited. Please call your grade level counselor to check on the availability of the weekend food bags and to obtain an application.

 

Holiday Giving: Various community organizations begin contacting schools during the fall months to offer holiday assistance. Some programs offer food boxes and others also offer basic necessity gift itmes for Christmas (pajamas, clothing itmes, board games, etc.). If you are interested in this service, please contact your grade level counselor as early as possible.

 

Free Tutoring: If your family finds itself living in one of the following situations and you have a 3rd-12th grade student who is struggling academically (based on ISAT/MAP test scores), you may qualify for district-provided after school tutoring. Contact the school counselor for additioinal information if you are living in a motel/hotel, car, campground, shelter, or doubled-up with another family out of economic necessity.

 

Boise Bicycle Project: Last year gently used bicycles were available as part of the Boise Bicycle Project. Guardians were responsible for transporting thier children to the site for a bike, helmet, fitting, and bicycle training session. Call 429-6520.

 

Computers for Kids: Refurbished computers are available to kids at a nominal fee. Computers and equipment costs are your obligation-this is not a free of charge service. Go to: www.cfkidaho.org for more information, pricing, and an order form.
